Hach Helps

At Hach, we believe that actions speak louder than words. That's why we have founded the Hach Helps initiative, which offers associates the opportunity to impact those around the corner and around the world.

Our values and principles guide us in this commitment to our local communities and to organisations dedicated to providing clean and safe water to those who need it. Hach Helps has partnered with select non-profit organisations to share our commitment with others.

Water for People

Water For People exists to promote the development of high quality drinking water and sanitation services, accessible to all, and sustained by strong communities, businesses, and governments. Born out of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), the largest nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water, Water For People was established in 1991.

How Hach Helps: Hach has supported Water For People over the years by providing funds, equipment and expertise. Hach has joined Water For People in the wake of natural disasters to help get clean water to those in need, as well as assisted in implementing new water and sanitation projects all over the world.

Water Mission

Water Mission designs, builds and implements safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas. Since their founding in 2001, they have grown to over 250 staff members around the world in permanent country programs, using innovative technology and engineering expertise to break through the global water crisis.

How Hach Helps: In addition to providing equipment and monetary donations in the aftermath of global disasters, the longstanding partnership between Hach and Water Mission has been enhanced in recent years with the start of the annual Hach Walk for Water. This Walk is designed to raise community awareness regarding the global water crisis and collect donations to provide sustainable water treatment systems for struggling communities throughout the world.

Cameroon

Hach associates in Germany worked with Belgian organisation “Engineers without Frontiers” to assist a community in Cameroon. For this project, the associates provided necessary funding to build a rain water harvesting facility that allows a local school to collect as much rain water as possible during the raining season, delivering fresh water for the school’s pupils and teachers, as well as enough to support a vegetable garden. In addition, the team provided basic water quality testing training and educated local community members to build additional rain collection systems in the future.
